The Rotary International Web site at www.rotary.org is a valuable resource for RI information, news, and materials. Many of the publications available in the catalog are available online. Most of the training manuals you will receive to prepare for your year as governor are available for download, as are the visual aids for these presentations. The Web site is updated regularly and contains information about a wide range of topics including membership development and retention, resources for conducting community and international service projects, Rotary Foundation programs, training opportunities and resources, and club administration. The Rotary Business Portal, on RI’s Web site, allows clubs to take care of business online. District governors-elect and district governors are provided with read-only access to the Updating Membership Data section. This section allows club presidents and secretaries to update their club’s membership information online. Governors-elect and governors can download membership data for the clubs in their districts. For the Online Official Directory, governors- elect and governors are provided with read-only access.

The Secretariat of Rotary International acts as a clearinghouse for Rotary clubs worldwide, gathering, analyzing, translating, and disseminating Rotary information. Comprised of the World Headquarters in Evanston, Illinois, USA, and seven international offices, it serves Rotarians, Rotary clubs, and the association’s leadership, helping them to attain the objectives of Rotary International and implement the policies of the RI Board of Directors and The Rotary Foundation Trustees.

The RI Board prescribes the duties and authority of each RI committee and determines their purpose. Members are appointed by the RI president. A task force is a group of Rotarians appointed by the RI president to assist Rotary clubs and districts carry out specific functions.
