Board encourages service, awareness

國際扶輪理事會於2003年2月的會議中，通過議案來提升服務、扶輪教育與擴展、及網際網路通訊。

At its February 2003 meeting, the Rotary International Board of Directors took actions that uplifted service, Rotary education and outreach, and communication via the Internet.

理事會鼓六扶輪社與地區推行環保計劃;、滿足殘障人士的需求、並持續強調識字與算術能力的計劃。理事會要求扶輪社讓其扶輪少年服務團參與扶輪百週年社區計劃，並鼓勵扶少團辦理自己的服務計劃來紀念扶輪創立百週年。

The Board encouraged clubs and districts to undertake environmental projects, meet the needs of people with disabilities, and continue to emphasize literacy and numeracy projects. It asked Rotary clubs to involve their Interact clubs in their centennial community projects and encouraged Interact clubs to develop their own service projects in honor of Rotary's centennial.

為了強化扶輪青年服務團的形象，理事會建議扶輪青年服務團著重下列計劃層面---自願捐款、社區與國際服務、和扶輪社合作、以及職業與領導發展活動。理事會也批准一項為期3年的網路扶青團試辦計劃。

To enhance the image of Rotaract, the Board suggested Rotaract clubs highlight such program aspects as voluntary contributions, community and international service, partnerships with Rotary clubs, and professional and leadership development activities. The Board also approved a three-year Rotaract cyberclub pilot project.

理事會鼓勵扶輪社與地區利用網際網路來宣傳服務活動，並要求扶輪社、地區、地帶考慮以各種方式宣傳其網址---包括利用公路廣告招牌、報紙廣告、及扶輪社文件等方式。

The Board encouraged Rotary clubs and districts to use the Internet to promote and publicize service activities, and it requested clubs, districts, and zones to consider promoting their Web sites by posting their addresses in a variety of ways, including on highway signs and in newspaper advertisements and club literature.

為了擴展扶輪社員對國際扶輪與扶輪基金會計劃的認識，理事會建議扶輪社每個月定期以一次例會專門用來傳達扶輪資訊、扶輪教育、及進行領導訓練。

With the goal of expanding Rotarians' knowledge of RI and Rotary Foundation programs, the Board advised clubs of the advantages of devoting a regular meeting each month exclusively to imparting Rotary information, Rotary education, and leadership training.

理事會也取消有關烏茲別克擴展活動的禁令。

In another action, the Board lifted its moratorium on extension activities in Uzbekistan.
