Activities of Organizing Committee 25/07/2004

Chairman Gary C.K. Huang, general secretary Jackson S. L. Hsieh and elite host committee members of the 2005 RI Presidential Celebration, Taipei met Monday, April 19^th, 2004 at Co-Chairman Jackson’s office.  After discussion on important jobs of Presidential Celebration host committee, registration contact, facility, website and information contact, they came to the conclusions as below :  

Suggested RI to act on the following: assign PDG Color Y.W. Lee as registration contact; The Grand Hotel, Taipei as the facility where celebration will be take place; use www.rotary2000.org/PDG/2005TaipeiPC.htm as the website address for the celebration; assign PDG Jackson S.L. Hsieh as the information contact and PDG Micro S. C. Lin the Japan contact. 

Decided the following Taipei celebration theme and the paragraph for inclusion in the eight Presidential Conference brochures: 

Every Year, Every Rotarian / Future of Rotary

1. Create influence & importance of Rotary in Asia.

2. Promote understanding and goodwill through exchange programs.

3. More active participation in Rotary Foundation through donation and using of new grants.

4. Reiterate the importance of ethics in the 21^st century by emphasizing Rotary’s Four Way Tests. 

According Gary Huang, 2004-05 RI President Glenn E. Estess SR has decided to hold eight presidential celebrations during his Rotary year in places and dates as below:
