A pre-institute program on the day of the opening of the 2005 Zone Institute for Zones 4B, 6B, and 7B was the Regional Rotary Foundation Seminar (RRFS). The seminar’s organizing committee was led by Regional Rotary Foundation Coordinator Gil Divinagracia who ensured to make it the focal event in this year’s Zone Institute.

The exuberant spirit was predominant inside the Sunset Pavilion Tent at the Westin Philippine Plaza. The attendees mingled, exchanged calling cards and traded cameras for photographs.

Keynote speaker of the event was R.I. President Carl Wilhelm-Stenhammar exhorted everybody to continue supporting The Foundation. He also asked everyone to recognize that R.I. and TRF actually belong together and coexist like mother and daughter.

His recalled four important events in Rotary’s history: start of The Rotary Foundation in 1917, when TRF took off upon Paul Harris’ initiative in 1947, when the Foundation’s educational and humanitarian programs started, and when Polio Plus program started.

Pres Carl also brought to the Institute other notable resource speakers: PDG Carolyn Jones, TRF Board of Trustees, who talked about Foundation updates; and TRF Gen Manager John Osterlund who expounded on the sensitive topic of stewardship.
