代替激勵他所說的話已經使未來的地區總監產生了熱情，前國際扶輪理事Paing Hechanova說他將〝嘗試透過一個簡短方法和從國際扶輪觀點來增加你們的扶輪知識〞。

Instead of inspiring what he said are already enthused future District Governors, past Rotary International Director Paing Hechanova said he would “try to add to your Rotary knowledge in a brief way and from an RI perspective”.

10月17日上星期一於Westin 菲律賓大會場的地區總監當選人與地區總監提名人的研習會上，國際扶輪理事Hechanova提出了他的國際扶輪策略計畫，七個目標形成一個持恆、持守、持續公路圖。

Speaking before the District Governors Elect and the District Governors Nominee Seminar last Monday, 17 October at the Westin Philippine Plaza, Dir Hechanova laid out his RI Strategic Plan, seven goals that form a road map for continuity, consistency and credibility.

七個目標是：

1.    根除小兒麻痺

2.    社員的防止流失

3.    提升扶輪的公關形象

4.    精練我們的管理與組織的架構

5.    加強我們的計劃重點

6.    改進訓練方法。

7 . 選擇下一個社團計畫。

The seven are:

1. Eradicating Polio.

2. Retention of members

3. Enhancing Rotary’s public image

4. Refining our governance and organizational structure.

5. Sharpening our program focus

6. Improving training methods.

7. Selecting the next corporate project.

他也提到扶輪於菲律賓所面臨的三個基本挑戰：

He also mentioned the three basic challenges that Rotary faces in the Philippines:

• 社員減少

• 由於缺少參與因而出席率很差

• 扶輪值得花費金錢和時間? 

• Declining membership

• Poor attendance related to lack of involvement

• Is Rotary worth the expense and time?

不僅僅提到這些問題，前國際扶輪理事Paing也提出了他的很簡單的忠告。

Not simply mentioning these problems, Dir Paing also gave his very simple advice.

〝回歸基本，〞他囑咐著。〝忘記這個 bonggahan。創新但是跟隨著扶輪規範，永遠是正直與榮譽。減少地區計畫。將服務的工作取而代之的來激勵扶輪社和扶輪社員。〞

“Go back to the basics,” he enjoined. “Forget the bonggahan. Innovate but follow the Rotary rule, always with Integrity and honor.  Reduce district projects.  Motivate clubs and Rotarians instead to do work of service.

〝忘記個性。忘記你的偏見並保留政治的純淨。它會毀壞和諧。以完全的透明來以身作則—你的成功將是根據你的領導特點來衡量。你不應，我重複，不應與前任或者與其他地區地區總監或其中的任何一個競爭。〞

“Forget personalities. Forget your prejudices and stay clear of politics.  It destroys unity.  Lead by example with full transparency – your success will be measured by your leadership traits. You are not, I repeat, NOT in competition with your predecessor or with another DG in another district or with any either.”

和他分享他透過多年於扶輪所學習到有用的這個想法。〝當面對一個問題時，〞他說，〝永遠要去詢問。〞

And he shares this thought which he had learned to be useful through his years with Rotary.  “When faced with a problem,” he said, “always ask:

〝什麼對於扶輪有益?〞

〝什麼將有助於促進扶輪的宗旨?〞

What is good for rotary?

What will help advance the Object of Rotary?”

最後，這些是他的臨別的話語：〝總是要看到什麼是對扶輪有所益。有時，它也許不會對你有益，但是總是要去看到我們組織的福利，扶輪是我們大家所愛的。你絕不能迷失。〞

In closing, these are his parting words: “Always look at what is good for Rotary.  Sometimes, it may not be good for you but always look at the welfare of our organization, the Rotary we all love. You can never lose.”
