由第4B, 6B和7B地帶來的扶輪社員與配偶們—所有912位註冊的會議代表們—昨日穿著正式服飾抵達在Westin菲律賓廣場的大會場，並以熱切的期盼著第七屆扶輪地帶研習會開幕典禮。

Rotarians and spouses from Zones 4B, 6B and 7B – all 912 registered delegates – arrived in full regalia and eager anticipation to witness the Opening Ceremonies of their 7th Zone Institute held at the grand ballroom of The Westin Philippine Plaza, Manila yesterday.

如預期與策劃般，它是多彩多姿並極富有意義的。該節目是莊嚴的並且顯赫。節目參與者一切都準備恰當並盡全心全意地在執行著。

As envisioned and planned, it was colorful and full of meaning. The program was solemn and dignified. The program participants were well-prepared and executed everything full of heart.

依照傳統顯要依序排列著來開始扶輪研習會。各國家國旗與電視牆所放映之各國著名的地標一起依序排列遊行進場。國際知名的Bayanihan舞者(Bayanihan菲律賓國家民族舞島公司)讓我們的外國賓客讚嘆他們的優美與天賦。

The traditional procession of dignitaries opened the Institute. A parade of national colors followed together with a video presentation of each country’s famous landmarks. The internationally-acclaimed Bayanihan Dancers (Bayanihan Philippine National Folk Dance Company) wowed our foreign guests with their grace and talents.

國際扶輪理事Jocelyn I. Bolante宣佈扶輪研習會開始。國際扶輪理事Noraseth Pathmanand致開幕詞以及前地區總監Vicente J. Carlos宣佈蒞會之各國使節團與非扶輪社員代表與貴賓們。

RID Jocelyn I. Bolante called the Institute to order. RID Noraseth Pathmanand delivered the Opening Remarks and PDG Vicente J. Carlos recognized the heads of foreign missions and other non-Rotarian dignitaries and guests present.

國際扶輪社長威罕•施當恆在他的致辭中，談及許多存在扶輪中可能的事情。他特別論述到終於要擴展努力於新的地區與重返扶輪國家例如：中華人民共和國、古巴和賽普勒斯。

In his address, RI President Carl-Wilhelm Stenhammar talked about the many possibilities open to Rotary. He particularly discussed at length the extension efforts being undertaken in new and returning Rotary countries like the People’s Republic of China, Cuba, and Cyprus.

不用說，它是一次盛大開幕式極適宜同樣盛大的場合。

Needless to say, it was a grand opening befitting an equally grand occasion.

扶輪地帶研習會不僅僅是任何一種扶輪訓練活動。它亦是每年扶輪領導人和我們運動的未來的塑造者聚集，為所有意圖和目的，一起致力於扶輪學習。

The Zone Institute is not just any Rotary training activity. It is, for all intents and purposes, an annual gathering of Rotary leaders and shapers of our movement’s future devoted to Rotary learning.

今天全體大會的充電和研討會的主講人都是資訊豐富的和博學廣識的扶輪社員。我肯定我們全體都將得益於他們的個人和集體的知識和廣泛經驗的分享。

Today’s battery of plenary and workshop speakers are all well-informed and knowledgeable Rotarians. I am sure all of us will benefit from their individual and collective wisdom and extensive experience.
