Dear Fellow Rotarians:
As you participate in this important meeting, I ask that you reflect
on the challenge of our motto, Service Above Self. Service
organizations like Rotary International play a vital role in todayˇs
society and will play an even more important role in the future. Two
words will be key words cooperation and continuity.
Rotary has set a standard on how cooperation and continuity can work
among society, the private sector, other foundations and service
organizations through its PolioPlus programme ¨to interrupt the
transmission of the wild polio virus.〃 For more than 20 years,
Rotary International has cooperated with the United Nations, through
WHO and UNICEF in this programme and we are now looking forward to a
giant success story.
Cooperation, however, does not have to be on a global basis, it must
also be on the local level. Districts, or clubs, are likely to reach
further in cooperation than each party could possibly do working
individually.
All the fields in which Rotary is working are huge health, hunger,
literacy and water, just to mention a few. None of these issues can
be solved over a short period of time. If that had been possible,
the problems would already have been solved. This is why continuity
is so important.
To work for a better world for all people is like putting together a
giant puzzle. Every participant will have to help in placing the
pieces. Through Service Above Self, Rotary International is working
to make its pieces and its contribution as large as possible, and in
doing so we continue to show the world the great leadership of our
organization. As the leaders of Rotary in your districts, it is up
to you to carry this vision into our next century of service.

Everybody is most welcome to the Zone
Institute that will be held in the charming and hospitable City of
Manila in October 2005.
A wonderful time is assured for all of you. It's always a joy to see
your old friends again. To develop new friendships with the other
members of the ever-growing Rotary family. To initiate and develop
or probably enlarge friendly exchanges and project partnerships.
You also get to hear a lot of good ideas and exciting experiences
from your co-delegates. And to express your own thoughts,
suggestions and insights. All of which are designed to help you as
Rotary leaders individually, your own clubs and districts, as well
as other clubs and districts, and Rotary, as a whole.
It also offers a grand vacation for all of you and your families. To
play in Philippine golf courses that are world-class. To visit the
Philippine's beautiful beaches and soak in its sea and sun.
Metro Manila has some of the best shopping centers, according to the
discriminating among our globetrotters and jetsetters. Tropical
fruits and exotic dishes abound, ever fresh and delicious. And you
will simply be shocked at the amazingly cheap prices.
Best of all, of course, you get to experience firsthand the
legendary Filipino hospitality!
So, see you all at the Manila Institute! It's just something you
won't want to miss!

Dear Present, Past and Future Officers
of Rotary International,
On behalf of the Institute Committee, I am pleased to extend an
official invitation to you to attend the 2005 Manila Rotary Zone
Institute, to be held in the Westin Philippine Plaza Manila on
October 20-22, 2005.
Rotary Institutes provide a splendid opportunity to look back at the
past, savor the present and chart the future of Rotary. Institutes
bring together Rotary leaders from diverse cultures united in
fellowship and service. The Philippines with the renowed warm
hospitality of its people is the right place for strengthening these
bonds of friendship.
The Institute Committee will exert their very best to present
