今天晚上，在我們3520地區歡迎國際社長的晚會中，我們準備了非常精彩的音樂節目，我們可以驕傲的說，今天晚上為我們演出的，都是國寶級的音樂家，所以我們請國際社長與我們今晚所有的貴賓，在享用豐盛的晚餐以後，再一起來聆賞這一段心靈的宴饗。

Tonight , in our meeting to greet RI President, we have prepared music programs with very high quality , here we would proudly announce that all the musicians who are going to perform for us tonight are our national treasures .  So, after a wonderful meal , we would now invite RI President and all our honorable guests to join us in a music feast .

在節目單裡，我們已經對每一位音樂家作了介紹，所以在這裡，我們只作重點簡介或是補充說明。

We have printed the introduction of each musician in our program , so over here I will just introduce them briefly or add some remarks.

我們要介紹的第一位音樂家，是剛才已經為我們作around table演奏的薩克斯風演奏家胡笙先生。胡笙先生是出生於花蓮縣太魯閣的原住民，從小在天主教環境成長，八歲時在教會裡隨意拿起樂器吹奏，卻被瑞士籍神父聽見了，認為他有很高的天賦，就寫信給教宗，希望教宗能派歐美音樂名師前來教導他。果然教皇派了一位義大利籍的大師來，這位老師在指導胡笙一個月後寫信給教宗，鑑定胡笙為音樂神童，希望教宗再安排其他老師前來教導胡笙，所以教宗先後派了七位不同國籍的音樂名師，傳授胡笙樂理、作曲、編曲及各種管樂器吹奏技巧。

The first musician we are going to introduce is the top saxphone player , Mr. Hu-Sen , who just had an around table performance while we were enjoying our dinner . Mr.  Hu-Sen is a native Taiwanese ,  he grew up in Catholic environment .  At age of eight , one day he was playing in the church , he picked up an instrument and started to play for fun , but the Swiss Father in church heard it , he felt Mr.  Hu-Sen really has great gift , so he wrote a letter to Pope , and asked Pope to send a musician to teach this kid .  And the Pope really granted his wish and sent an Italian music teacher to Taiwan to specifically instruct  Hu-Sen , then this Italian musician wrote to Pope and recommended Mr.  Hu-Sen as a child prodigy , and he also requested that Pope should send more teachers to teach  Hu-Sen .  So in a few years , the Pope sent in total seven teachers to teach  Hu-Sen , not only playing instrument , but also music theories and composition skills .

果然胡笙在十二歲的時候，跟隨著瑞士籍神父至羅馬晉見教宗，並且在梵諦岡舉行的數十萬人盛會中受邀演出。胡笙十三歲時，就在花蓮的各所高中及救國團擔任管樂器教學，當年並且率領全花蓮的管樂精英為蔣公吹奏，而且十三歲就參加五燈獎比賽，擊敗二十九歲的小喇叭手，而獲得五度五關的大獎。

Then at age of twelve ,  Hu-Sen followed Swiss Father to Vatican to visit Pope , and the Pope made him play in front of a mass of hundreds of thousands . In last several decades , Mr.  Hu-Sen has had many many honors , he has had thousands of performances , and has published more than two hundreds ot personal albums .  Mr.  Hu-Sen has performed for many international leaders like the Ex-President of USA , Old Bush , the Ex-Premier of UK , Mrs . Thachel , the Ex-Prime Minister of Soviet Russia ., Gobachev .

這幾十年中，胡笙先生演出過幾千場次，而且出版過個人薩克斯風專輯達兩百餘張 ( 國內外均有發行 )，胡笙先生也在許多友邦元首面前演出過，如美國總統老布希，英國首相柴契爾夫人，蘇聯元首戈巴契夫...等。今天晚上，胡笙先生要為我們演出的都是大家耳熟能詳的曲目，有望春風、夜來香，和王昭君。尤其王昭君這一首曲子，將在2008年北京奧運的開幕式上，在北京、上海、廣州三個交響樂團伴奏下，由胡笙先生主奏演出，屆時還有208位少林寺功夫和尚列陣打拳，所以我們何等榮幸，能先聽為快，讓我們一起鼓掌歡迎胡笙先生為我們演出！

Tonight , Mr.  Hu-Sen will perform for us three more wonderful pieces , the first piece is a Taiwanese folk song 望春風 , which means “ Expecting the spring breeze” , this song depicts a young girl who comes across a handsome young man , but she is so shy that she doesn’t know how to tell him “ I like you “ .  The second piece is a pop song in old China in forties , 夜來香 is actually the name of a kind of flower which transmits scent at midnight hours .  And the third piece 王昭君 is a very old Chinese melody which describes nostalgia of one of the most famous beauty in Chinese history , because she was given by Han Emperor to Mongolian King , as a gift for establishing the peace agreement . Tonight we proudly announce that , at the opening ceremony of 2008 Bejing Olympics , Mr.  Hu-Sen will perform王昭君 under the accompaniment of three major symphony orchestra , and there will be 208 Shaoling Gungfu monks to demonstrate Chinese boxing . So how lucky we are that we get to hear this wonderful performance before hand , now please join me with big hands in welcoming our great saxphone player , Mr.  Hu-Sen.

接下來，我們要介紹兩位頂級的聲樂家，一位是國內最出色的男聲聲樂家，男中音巫白玉璽先生，一位是青春玉女女高音翁若珮小姐。巫白玉璽先生的父親是大陸東北人，母親是台灣泰雅族的公主，所以很少人知道，巫白玉璽先生其實是一位山地王子。巫白玉璽先生畢業於義大利國立米蘭威爾第音樂院，他學成歸國以後，立刻成為我們國家歌劇院第一男中音，這些年來，巫白玉璽先生在國內外，參加過數十次的歌劇、神劇，或是大型音樂會的演出。像今年年底的除夕夜晚，將有一場跨年的歌劇演出，演出「風流寡婦」，我們的巫白玉璽老師就要擔任這一部歌劇的第一男主角。

Now we are going to introduce two great vocalists , one of them is the most outstanding male vocalist in Taiwan, Mr. Wu Bai-Yu-Hsi ; the other one is a young and pretty soprano, Ms. Weng Jo Pei.  Mr. Wu Bai-Yu-Hsi graduated from the National Milan Verdi Conservatoire in Italy , and since he returned to Taiwan , he has been recruited by our National Opera House as the first baritone. So in last few years , he has participated in tens of opera performances , locally and internationally.  And for the coming new year eve , our National Opera House will put up a big show , which is the performance of famous operetta “ Merry Widow”, and Mr.  Wu Bai-Yu-Hsi will be the hero of that performance.

在這裡，我們要同時介紹青春玉女女高音翁若珮小姐，因為下面的演唱曲目，是由巫白玉璽老師和翁若珮小姐攜手演出的。翁若珮小姐先後畢業於國立台北藝術大學，與美國琵琶第音樂學院，翁若珮小姐在成長與學習的過程，都一直有極傑出的表現，也參加過許多大型的音樂演出，所以她是獲得獎學金進入琵琶第音樂學院深造的。翁若珮小姐在美國深造期間，也多次參加歌劇的演出，擔任重要的角色。去年翁若珮小姐剛回國，就參加「建華菁英」音樂大賽，獲得聲樂組首獎，然後她很快就獲得國家歌劇院的邀請，連續演出四、五部歌劇。

We need to introduce our soprano simultaneously ,  because the following program will be performed by Mr. Wu Bai-Yu-Hsi and Ms. Weng Jo Pei join-handed .  Our soprano Ms. Weng Jo Pei graduated earlier form National Taipei Art University, and later from famous music school in USA , Peabody Institute . Throughout her growth and learning period , Ms. Weng Jo Pei. always has outstanding performance, so she won scholarship to attend Peabody Institute. Ms. Weng Jo Pei. came back to Taiwan last year and took part in a high level music contest “ Jian-Hua philharmonic young stars “, she won the first place among vocal group. Of course she fell a victim of our star searchers, Ms. Weng Jo Pei was immediately recruited by our National Opera House, and since then , she has performed in five operas in our National Opera House.

我們接下來的曲目，是四首歌曲，第一首是國內名作曲家呂泉生先生所作，膾炙人口的歌曲「杯底不可飼金魚」，第二首是著名山地歌謠「月舞曲」，第三首是普受歡迎的台語流行歌曲「青春嶺」，第四首是歌劇「風流寡婦」中非常甜美的二重唱。

Our following program will contain four beautiful songs , the first one is a famous Taiwanese art song “ You can’t keep gold fish at the bottom of a wine glass” which means you tell your friends , let us drain our glasses.  The second song is a popular folk song from our native Taiwanese people “ Moon Dance “ , and the third song is a Taiwanese pop song “ Youth Peak” , which encourages our friends to go to Youth Peak to keep our heart young , and the last song will be the sweet duet from the operetta “ Merry Widow “.

這四首歌曲的前兩首，是巫白玉璽老師的獨唱，而後兩首是巫白玉璽老師與翁若珮小姐的二重唱。

所以，我們今天真是太幸福了，先前已經先聽為快的，聽到胡笙先生演奏王昭君，接下來又可以先聽為快的，聽到歌劇「風流寡婦」中的精華演出。

The first two songs will be Mr. Wu Bai’s solo , and the following two songs will be duet by Mr.  Wu Bai-Yu-Hsi and Ms. Weng Jo Pei.  Earlier , I said to all our guests tonight , how lucky we are that we get to hear before hand the great performance of王昭君 by Mr.  Hu-Sen, and now we get to hear again before hand the most beautiful part of operetta “ Merry Widow “.  Ladies and gentlemen , let us give big hands to our great vocalists, Mr. Wu Bai-Yu-Hsi and Ms. Weng Jo Pei.

如果你沒有要求安可曲，那你可虧大了，巫白玉璽老師與翁若珮小姐的確準備了安可曲，而且是非常棒的曲子，就是聞名世界的盲人男高音Andrea Bocelli 和女高音Sara Brightman 合唱的 Conte Partiro , 歌名的意思就是「該說再見的時候了」，其實這一首歌曲的歌詞是說，我們該向過去說再見，而要以更大的決心與勇氣迎向光明的未來。

I said to all our guests , if you did not ask for encore , it will be a big loss for you , because our vocalists really prepared an encore piece, which is the beautiful beautiful duet by famous blind tenor Andrea Bocelli and charming soprano Sara Brightman , the title of the song is “Conte Partiro” which means “ Time to say goodbye” , but the lyrics of this song does not mean we should say goodbye to each other , instead , it says we should say goodbye to our past , and we shall look forward with courage and determination to our bright future.
