The Rotary Foundation provides a secure and reliable means of carrying out the vital mission of Rotary International; that is the advancement of international understanding, goodwill and peace. Given the amount of funds to work with, I believe that no other organization could have accomplished what we have done and had the impact on the world over our first century of service.

Chuck retired in 1997 from 28 years as a professional photographer. He has served on the National Council of Professional Photographers of America (PPA) for 12 years, and served in many leadership roles for the Kansas Professional Photographers of America. He was awarded the PPA’s National Award for professional contribution to the industry and the Kansas PPA’s Life Membership Award. Chuck has served several years, including a one-year term as president on his community’s United Way board and on the United Way Allocation board. He was also a member of the Sacred Heart School Board of Trustees.

        A Rotarian since 1979, Chuck is a member of the Rotary club of Emporia, where he served as club president in 1986-87. He has served as club secretary for 8 years. Chuck was a GSE team leader to District 9100 in India in 1991. He was Permanent Fund National Advisor (2001-03), and District 5710 Foundation chairman (2002-03).

Chuck twice traveled to Ghana, West Africa to participate in a National Immunization Day.  As a result of his first trip, he initiated a special campaign to raise $75,000 in his district to fund another NID in Ghana the next year. District 5710 succeeded in raising over $100,000.

        Chuck was awarded the Regional Service Award for a Polio-Free World, and the Citation for Meritorious Service. He is a Paul Harris Fellow, Major Donor, Bequest Society Member, and Benefactor to the Foundation.
