1990~91 RI President Paulo V.C. Costa said: 

“Rotary has no hands of its own.

 Rotary‘s hands are our hands.”

The keyhole design in our gear wheel on the Rotary emblem symbolizes Rotary in motion, its power source.

Former RI President Cadman said ‘You are the Key’.

We must use Commitment and Dedication as the key to ‘activate this keyway’ in the center of our emblem and open the door to the world of Rotary;

as Commitment and Dedication are the driving forces of the Rotary movement.

We are here to share our wisdoms,

to share our experiences,

to share our talents,

to learn how to encourage,

inspiring more and more Rotarians to commit to our cause.

By doing this a more powerful Rotary force will be the result.

This long term commitment and dedication will shape the future direction of the Rotary wheel and its movement shall never cease.

So let’s see how your club uses Commitment and Dedication as the key to activate this keyway in your rotary year.

You have to,
