A good Rotary conference is like a grand symphony.

We need all the different music instrument to make it happen.  Everyone of you is like a musical instrument.     Your participation and your contributions are important.     All of you have made this presidential celebration a very successful one.

Thank you and please give yourself a round of applause.

Like a grand symphony, all good things must come to an end.

Before we say goodbye, I would like to thank The Rotary Foundation Chairman-elect, RI past president Frank Devlyn.     I understand that you have to make major changes of your plan to grace the conference, and to give personal recognition to our major donors. That means a lot to us.     Thank you.

At the same time, I also want to offer my thanks to all our current; incoming and past directors, members of the Trustees for your continued support.     You are my true friends.     We appreciate your input and your contributions to the conference.     Your dedication to Rotary inspires everyone of us in Taiwan.     Thank you.

Since the theme of this conference is “Every Rotarian, Every year, the future of Rotary,” I want to give my heartfelt thanks to the 106 centennial major donors.     Your generosity and your participation have made the conference more meaningful.     Your contributions will enable the Rotary Foundation to do more good work around the world.  I would like to ask all the centennial major donors.     Please rise and to be recognized once more.

I want to thank the organizing committee members, who have volunteered countless hours in preparing for the conference.     Your hard work has enabled us to run the conference smoothly.     PDG Jackson Hsieh and all the Organizing Committee, please stand up. Let’s give them a round of applause.

Of course, we can’t forget our Sergeants-at-arms.     Your tireless efforts have ensured the orderly procession of the meeting.

During the past two days, people have come up to me and told me how much they enjoyed the food and the wonderful entertainment programs.  Let me tell you:     These are the meticulous work of the fellowship committee.     Ladies Committee Chair Betty and all the Committee members, please stand up.

I would also like to thank three RI staffs for their assistance and support: Robert Mintz, Larry Shawver, Howard Chang, Wen Huang.

Last, and most importantly, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the man whose vision and guidance, and whose attentiveness to Asia have made this conference possible.     Thank you, President Glenn for choosing Taipei as one of the seven cities to celebrate the Rotary centennial.     As you can see from the conference, you have the full support of Rotarians in Taiwan, and Asia.     We cannot claim that your last celebration is also the best, but I hope the unity and high spirit of Rotarians in Asia have left you with good memories.

Now, on behalf of the organizing committee, I would like to invite President Glenn and Mary to come up to the podium.

Thank you and have a good night.         See you all in Chicago !
