The Art of Napkin Folding DIY

napkins can remain simply functional on the dining table. However, once the
host of any meal decides to touch them up with a special fold, any gathering
for a meal will be immediately transformed into a joyful celebration. That
is the magic of napkin folding art. Any napkin¡Xeven paper¡Xcan be folded into
a variety of shapes to create different effects. The fold can be intricate
or simple, but the thought of the host will surely overflow in the folded
napkins, immersing the guests in the warmest welcome. Rotarian families have
always
aspired to a quality life that embodies style, taste, and class, but comes
in a most natural and unpretentious way. Indeed, art can be found anywhere
in life.
In order to extend our sincerest hospitality to the guests attending the 2005 RI Presidential Celebration Taipei, more than 20 well-trained Rotarian spouses will demonstrate 9 different designs of napkin folds in the Lady¡¦s Program held at 1st International Reception Hall. By following the trained spouses¡¦ detailed step-by-step demonstrations and directions conducted in Chinese, English, Japanese and Korean respectively, participating guests will be able to try the different folds with their own hands and immediately sample the fun and beauty of the art of napkin folding. Such kind of close and face-to-face interaction between the guests and the hosting parties will also ensure the enhancement of international friendship.
The globally acclaimed Franz Porcelain created by the local artist and entrepreneur Franz Chen will also be displayed in the hall. With artistic napkin folds and exquisite porcelain pieces exhibited side by side, a true feast of life is going to take place in the 2005 RI Presidential Celebration Taipei.
